The Cross Reveals the Person of Jesus

1 Corinthians 1:23,24
"But we preach Christ crusified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God."

The Jews were looking for a Messiah on a white horse with a sword to deliver them from Romans. They watched Jesus and said, "He's no Messiah." The Greeks considered the Cross "foolishness," saying that the notion of God sacrificing His life for people was stupid. They both rejected Jesus because He failed to do what they wanted Him to do.

Who is Jesus Christ to you? What is the Cross to you? Your concept of Jesus will determine how you serve Him. Secular humanists say Jesus Christ was merely a good man and a great teacher. Nonsense. He is either the Lord, as He said He was, or He is a liar. He is either the Saviour, or He is a charlant. He is either the greatest lunatic who ever lived, or He is the Son of God.

The Cross is not about jewelry around your neck; it's about Jesus in your heart. The Cross was no accident. It was planned from the foundations of the world(Rev 13:8). This is the Lamb of God who climbed Calvary's hill with the sin of the world on His brow. This is the man who took every disease upon Himself and utterly defeated Satan and his demons. He is the Lord God Almighty who triamphed over death! He is King of Kings and Lord of lords. He is the Lion of judah, and of His Kingdom there shall be no end.

The Cross is a mystery. The Cross is divine. The Cross is miraculous. The Cross is supernatural. The Cross is substitutionary, meaning that Christ substituted His life for me. The Cross is efficacious, meaning my sins were forgiven there. Run to the Cross! Confess your sins and receive forgiveness, and surrender your life to become like Jesus.

God's Creation vs Man's Invention

As we know God created what existed, exists and will exist. His creation extends from tiny worm to unknown galaxies.
We can see that in Genesis-1:27 that "God created man in his own image".
God has given mankind the ability to think, invent new things, taking ideas from god's creation. Man certainly did achieve alot but forgot God in the midst of it.
Romans 3:18
“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
Many cried when steve jobs died, the man who have claimed to change the world. His heart was filled with worldy worthless intelligence too much, leaving no room for christ. But very few were at the cross at the time when Jesus Christ shed his precious blood to redeem mankind from their sins.
Romans-3:23,24
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus".

Mankind worship God's creation instead of the creator.
Romans 1:25
"They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen"
Just as only God deserves to wear certain unique names, possesses certain unique characteristics, and do certain unique works, so there are certain unique forms of worship and honor that belong only to God. Because God created and rules the whole creation, it follows that all created things must honor and worship Him. No man or other created being may rightly receive such worship. To give such honor to men or created beings constitutes blasphemy or idolatry.

Many verses forbid worshiping men, angels, or any created thing.
Acts-10:25,26
"Cornelius fell down to worship Peter. Peter forbade it saying that he himself was just a man. God deserves worship, but men do not."
Revelation 22:8,9
I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. 9 But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!”
Revelation-19:10
At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

To worship any created thing - whether man, angel, heavenly body, or some other object in nature (mountain, ocean, etc.) - constitutes idolatry.

To understand God we must realize that God is not part of the created things. God is the Creator, separate and far above the creatures. Jesus must be classed on one side or the other. Either he is a created being or else He is Deity. To say He is not Deity is to say He is a created being. To say He is not a created being is to say He is Deity. There are no other alternatives.
Men are creatures; angels are creatures that are above men. But Jesus is above the angels and is not classed with them (Hebrews chap. 1 - see especially vv 5,6,13). We have seen that He is not an angel nor an exalted man, but the Bible attributes to Him that which can only be said of God.

* Jesus is expressly stated to be God or to possess Deity.
* Jesus is called by names that may only be used for God.
* Jesus possesses characteristics that only God can possess.
* Jesus does work that only God can do.
* Jesus deserves worship and honor that only God deserves.

In all these areas Jesus is described as the Creator, not a created being. He is eternal, has the power, and did the work of creation. He deserves honor as the Creator. Clearly He is not to be classed with the created things but with Deity.
There is only one true God who made the universe. If Jesus is "god," He is not an idol nor a false god. Since He possesses Deity and there is only one true God, then He must possess true Deity, not some lesser form of deity. He must be included in the one true God or Godhead along with the Father and the Holy Spirit.
Finally, if Jesus is God then He always has been God and always will be God, since God's unique nature cannot change (Hebrews 13:8). God cannot cease to be God nor can God lose the characteristics of God. He can take on non-Divine characteristics as Jesus added the characteristics of a man when He came to earth, and He can limit the use of His powers in order to accomplish His Divine purposes as Jesus did on earth. But He cannot cease to be God and He cannot lose the power and characteristics of God.

The Result of God's Remedy for Man's Ruin

1 Peter-1:18,19

18. knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers,
19. but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

God did not redeem us with corruptible things, silver and gold, that we may become His slaves. Neither are we redeemed by our good works, that we may have grounds to boast; nor did He send angels to redeem us , that we may become angels. He sent his only begotten Son to redeem us "with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot" (v 19), so that we might become sons of God. This is accomplished through believing that "Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures" (1 Cor 15:3,4).

Christ is our Redeemer. His blood was the price He paid for our redemption. Jesus paid the price required by God the Father for the forgiveness of our sins. "The Lord [God the Father] has laid on Him [God the Son] the iniquity of us all" (Isaiah 53:6). "Withour shedding of blood there is no remission," that is, no forgiveness of sin (Hebrew 9:22). The precious blood of Jesus is upon the mercy seat in heaven's tabernacle, which was not made with hands, and is not of this earth. "With his own blood [after His resurrection] He entered the Most Holy Place once for all". Jesus our Hight Priest, sprinkled His own blood upon the mercy seat,"having obtained eternal redemption" (Hebrew 9:11-15). Jesus paid sin's debt in full on Calvery when He came the first time to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself on the cross (Hebrew 9:25-28). It is no wonder that Peter called the blood of Jesus "precious blood" (v. 19)

A new creation in Christ Jesus. "Old things have passed away; behold all things have become new"(2 Cor 5:17, 2Peter 1:4). Because believers are now partakers of the divine nature of God, they are born-again children of God (v.23). Because they are born again of the incorruptible seed of God, they will never be the same.

All who have been redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus (who are new creations in Christ) will join the four creatures and the twenty-four elders around the throne of God to sing the new theme song of heaven:Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. It will be the theme song on earth during Kingdom, and forever in the new heaven and the new earth(Revelation 5:8-14).

Without the faith in the precious blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7), there is no remedy for your ruin by sin.

Jesus will return (to judge the living and the dead)

Bible prophecy: Matthew 24:29-31
Prophecy written: During the first century
Prophecy fulfilled: To be fulfilled

In Matthew 24:29-31, as well as in other places within the New Testament, Jesus revealed about 2000 years ago that he will return in the future to judge the living and the dead. This is a core Christian belief that is reflected in the Apostles' Creed, which is a summary of Christian beliefs that was written many centuries ago. The Apostles' Creed is recited by Christians during Christian worship services.

Matthew 24:29-31:

29 "Immediately after the distress of those days " 'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'

30 "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.

31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

As in the days of Noah

Luke 17:27- People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.

As the Word of God declares the time of the Son of man coming would be as the days of Noah were.We are living in those days today.Perilous and exciting times.I want to encourage you in your daily walk with the Lord and help you wake up as you see the signs of His Coming all around us,because as it is written, our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed!
